POWR2 has launched their biggest node sizes yet with the ability to provide up to 1.2MW of power output. Primarily serving the construction business, it became apparent there was a need for much higher outputs than was traditionally available.
POWR2’s head of sales, Tim Doling, noted that traditionally renewable power systems have been thought of as a solution to take the low loads and then start up a generator to handle the peak loads. However, if you take this concept and turn it around, where a POWRBANK powers the peak load and the generator just recharges the battery, the savings are far greater, from fuel and emissions savings to even being able to downsize the generator.
Items commonly powered with larger generators on construction sites are sized in accordance with the inrush current of a motor. This leaves the generator oversized for the majority of the work it is needed for. In addition to this, as we start to see other large, electric machinery coming to construction sites, additional power may be needed to supplement what the grid can provide. The renewable power system works like a large capacitor providing rapid charging.
Sizes available are 250KW, 500KW, and 800KW, and each size has a 150-percent overload capacity for one minute.
The POWR2 system allows companies to utilize solar and wind power if available, further optimizing their efficiency.
