Pettibone showcased the new Extendo 1544X Telehandler at CONEXPO 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The telehandler features a heavy lifting capacity of 15,000-lbs. This lifting weight class is designed to support highway construction, material handling work, pipe yard applications and more.
According to Mitch Fedie, product manager at Pettibone, the company’s telehandlers are primarily used in oil and gas operations, as well as outdoor projects with demanding lifting requirements.
The Extendo 1544X has a maximum lift height of 44-ft. and a maximum forward reach of 29-ft. Powered by a 117-hp Cummins QSF 3.8 Tier 4 Final turbo diesel engine, the machine can travel at a maximum speed of 15.2 mph and features foam-filled tires (standard). A 30-gallon, steel fuel tank keeps the telehandler running all day, at full load. The telehandler has three speed settings and can travel forward or reverse.
“Mounted onto a side pod, the engine offers easy accessibility to components and daily service checks, while still allowing for exceptional curbside visibility and a ground clearance of 19-in.,” according to a Pettibone press release.
Inside the cab, operators can access a hydraulic joystick, analog gauge cluster and steering wheel. The components are water resistant, catering to interior washdown without needing to remove in-cab parts. The Extendo 1544X is available with Pettibone’s X-Command telematics.
