SolidBoss, an OTR Engineered Solutions brand, has introduced two LiftBoss tires for aerial work platforms, including a non-directional option. Available in both pneumatic and foam filled assemblies, the new LiftBoss line brings a reliable wheel and tire solution to this market.
Although a directional LiftBoss tire (model D228 R4) is available for customers who prefer a traditional option, the new non-directional tires (model ND-226) offer a fresh concept for aerial work platforms. With only one tread pattern for both left- and right-hand tire and wheel assemblies, the non-directional option simplifies tire selection and installation.
“Aerial work platforms have been slow to adopt non-directional tires, but we’re looking to change that with the LiftBoss line,” said John Major, director of marketing for OTR. “Having only one tire and wheel assembly part number not only offers inventory benefits, but it also eliminates the possibility of ordering incorrectly or installing a tire on the wrong side of the machine.”
“Of course, we still offer a directional tire for customers who prefer that style,” Major added. “This selection helps position LiftBoss as a superior tire option for the aerial work platform market.”
The rubber compound in the tires helps minimize chunking and caters to operation on gravel, mud and rubble. The tires can also be foam filled to help minimize downtime from punctures experienced on the jobsite.
LiftBoss tire and wheel assemblies are currently offered in 11 sizes for aerial work platforms, with additional sizes in development.
