Magni Telescopic Handlers extended its RTH range with the new 8.35 and 8.46 models allowing contractors in various construction trades such as concrete, masonry, framing, steel and more to lift heavier, higher, and safer.

The inception of the 8.35 ensued from the redesign of the 6.36 model, showcasing upgraded load charts and a noteworthy boost in lifting capacity, elevated by 2 tonnes (4,409 lbs.).

These two modes give access to two different load charts, to maximize performance in all operating conditions. The standard extension mode, M1, offers the operator the maximum reach and higher load capacities at the maximum height, while M2 mode restricts reach to provide an increased load capacity of up to 8 tonnes (17,600 lbs.). Compared to the previous 6.35 model, the 8.35 delivers maximum load capacities 33% higher in mode M2 and 20% higher in mode M1.

The other model, the RTH 8.46, is the outcome of a major restyling of the first-generation 6.46 model, as it has a new boom, developed to provide lifting capacities up to 8 tonnes (17,600 lbs.). Inheriting the two extension modes, M1 and M2, already present on the 6.46, the 8.46 establishes itself at the top of its class, as one of the rotating telescopic handlers with the highest lifting heights, second only to the RTH 6.51, the record-holder for this type of machine. Compared to the 6.46, the 8.46 offers unique performance, better in terms of heights, maximum reach with 1 m (3 feet) more, and load capacity, as it is able to lift 8 tonnes up to 22 m (17,600 lbs. up to 72 feet), to carry 1 tonne (2,200 lbs.) to a horizontal reach of 31 m (101 feet) and to carry 500 kg (1,100 lbs.) to the maximum reach of 33 m (108 feet).

The 8.35 and the 8.46 were designed to rewrite the rule book on load capacity limits and guarantee outstanding results in any conditions of use, thanks to the ambitious research project focused on exceeding industry standards.

These two machines have achieved a hitherto unimagined degree of evolution thanks to an unprecedented combination of leading-edge engineering and uncompromising design, typical of Magni products.Magni RTH 8.35 and 8.46 Rotating & Heavy Lift TelehandlersThe RTH 8.46Magni America LLC

Surprisingly reliable and rugged, they are the ideal partners on even the toughest construction sites, while their agility and ease of use guarantee operators a unique experience. No challenge is too complex: safety and precision are assured at even the greatest heights.

  • Versatility: The 8.35 and the 8.46 are extremely sophisticated, since they can be used, by just changing the attachment, as telescopic handler with the forks, as off-road crane by fitting the winch, and as aerial platform thanks to the basket. What’s more, via the RFID system the machine recognises the attachment and automatically sets the relevant safety devices and load chart.
  • Safety and Visibility: With ROPS/FOPS Level 2 certification, the cab guarantees best-in-class safety throughout all working phases. Visibility is also improved, while maintaining regulatory and safety compliance, by moving the cab further forward, increasing the glazing in the top section and installing a more slender steering column. The new Magni patented “easy access” system makes getting into and out of the cab easier by permitting a slight misalignment between the turret and chassis, facilitating access to the machine.
  • Operator Comfort: As for all other RTH and TH models, the cab interiors have been completely restyled and all panelling is now injection-moulded for improved durability and a better finish. Courtesy lights fitted in various points inside the cab switch on when the door is opened. These LED lights can be dimmed and gradually fade out once the machine is switched off. The air flows inside the cab have been improved by redesigning the bottom section of the windscreen, to optimise defrosting in even the coldest weather.
A sunblind which can be locked in two different positions is fitted in the roof, above the operator’s head, to guarantee the highest degree of comfort on even the sunniest days. In the new cab both the armrests, which move with the seat, can be raised, creating a convenient storage compartment underneath the right armrest. An air-suspended, tilting premium seat with headrest is also available.
A special case for the remote control is provided in the rear of the cab, behind the seat, to protect it from dirt, wear and knocks.

New MCTS (Magni Combi Touch Screen) On-board Control System

The software installed on the new RTH range, also accessible from the touch screen, has been completely renewed. The restyled interface graphics ensure easy, intuitive use with user-friendly icons to identify the various functions.

In an upgrade from the previous release, the software now includes a main menu accessible from the various thematic screens, with new functions to provide a smoother, pleasanter user experience.

The main functions and innovations include:

  • Handling mode: allowing boom and traction speeds to be separated for more precise, faster movements when extending the boom while moving the vehicle.
  • Eco mode: this allows the engine rpm to be automatically reduced once the maximum speed is reached during on-road travel at constant speed, reducing fuel consumption and thus CO2 emissions.
  • Dedicated pre-settings: three new presents which can be selected by the operator, from the most precise to the most reactive, to optimize the performance of the attachment used.

Another important innovation is the Magni LLD (Live Load Diagram) system, which offers three different versions of the load chart screen for a complete view of the operating limits, to enable work in total safety:

  • Standard (pictured above, on left), displaying all the load bands (also featured on previous versions).
  • Dynamic (pictured above, center), displaying the working area available in relation to the load being lifted.
  • 360-degree dynamic (pictured above, on right), which displays the working area available from above, enabling greater precision when working in conditions of varying stability.

Like the whole of the new RTH range, these two models are equipped as standard with a reversing camera, visible in the MCTS monitor, activated automatically when reverse gear is engaged.

Through the market launch of these two machines, Magni TH is aiming to further stand out from the crowd by expanding its 8 tonnes (17,600 lbs.) range to 3 rotating models (8.27, 8.35 and 8.46) and offering solutions never previously seen in the sector.
