CTS Cement has released Rapid Set Asphalt Repair Mix, a cement-based, flexible pothole fill and repair material. It is resistant to cracking, bonds to existing asphalt, stays intact during service and prevents washout.
“We are excited about how Rapid Set Asphalt Repair Mix quickly and easily repairs existing asphalt roads and parking lots,” said vice president of product development, Matt Sambol. “It’s a great match between asphalt and a cementitious repair material to allow municipalities to extend the life of their pavements.”
Rapid Set Asphalt Repair Mix serves as a fast-setting, cementitious repair material with a coarse aggregate blend designed for moderate to deep asphalt repairs. It offers adhesion and durability and is designed to match the dark color of existing asphalt.
“Furthermore, when compared to other repair products, Asphalt Repair Mix reduces environmental impact,” said Sambol. “The product contains environmentally friendly, post-consumer recycled material and has zero grams per liter (g/l) of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).”
Reopen to Traffic in 90 Minutes
Used for driveways, parking lots, roads, potholes or any asphalt areas that need repair, Rapid Set Asphalt Repair Mix tackles repairs that are not possible with standard cold patch materials. Repairs can be completed with a fast return to service, opening to traffic in only 90 minutes.
Asphalt Repair Mix can be used for repairs from 2 in. (5 cm) to 24 in. (61 cm). This range of thicknesses makes it a versatile, multipurpose asphalt repair material — one product can be used for a variety of defects.
Application for a Debris-Free Surface
Add water, mix and apply to use the Rapid Set Asphalt Repair Mix. This flexible cementitious repair material is applied like a standard concrete repair product and eliminates the need for tamping processes.
Asphalt Repair Mix stays flat, level and intact, eliminating concerns related to displaced repair material debris that creates road and trip hazards. The material can be placed and consolidated to allow for maximum finishing time and can be trowel- or float-finished. To match existing asphalt textures, a loop roller may be used to apply the final finish.
