Through the generosity of those who attended CONEXPO/CON-AGG 2023 event in Las Vegas, BOMAG raised over $6,400 for a donation towards the charity "Construction Angels" organization. Founded by Kristi Gibbs, their overall mission is to give financial aid and mental health support services for the families of those who have lost a spouse or parent to a construction worksite fatality. Among other things, they also offer construction scholarship opportunities to those who qualify and apply, as well as, additional scholarships to the children of fallen workers. Additionally, the organization spends a great deal of its efforts to promote job site safety awareness.
National Work Zone Awareness week is coming April 17-21, 2023.
Those who visited the BOMAG booth during the week of the show, would find racks of yellow tee-shirts with a variety of five different BOMAG service or machine icons on the front and a fun spirited product or related saying on the back. During the two separate occasions I was at the booth, there were constantly people pulling shirts off the rack and paying at or above the suggested minimum donation of $5. Some of the sayings were “I Eat Asphalt for Lunch” (Mills), “Keep Rollin’ Rollin’ Rollin’” (Asphalt Rollers) and “Who Needs a Manual?” (Service).
I purchased the "I Lay Good Mat" version with the asphalt paver on the front!
“BOMAG is excited to be partnering again with Construction Angels and looks forward to future campaigns as well. It’s amazing being able to represent such a great foundation on top of collecting over $6,400 in donations to help families of road construction workers who have lost their lives in work-related accidents. It’s a great cause and it reflects BOMAG’s core initiatives promoting jobsite safety awareness,” said Dena Jenkins, BOMAG manager, marketing & communications. BOMAG plans to continue its relationship with Construction Angels so watch for their next campaign to support the cause.
